PRATTSVILLE - Vincent P. Igoe Sr. of Prattsville, New York, passed away on February 18, 2026 at the age of 76. Born and raised in the City of Albany, NY. Vince lived a life defined by service, dedication, and deep love for his family. He was especially proud of his more than 20-year career with the Albany Police Department. He served in many units including traffic safety, the motor unit and he thrived as a midnight accident investigator. He was well known for helping create the APD dive team. He also worked in ASB and was pivotal in getting APD accredited. His commitment to protecting and serving others extended beyond his professional career through his volunteer work with the Prattsville Fire Department.
Vince was a man of strong character — funny, generous, and stubborn in the most endearing way, with an unmistakable Irish charm. He believed in doing things the right way, often reminding those around him, “Take a job big or small, do it right or not at all.” He carried that principle into every aspect of his life. He found great joy in traveling and in sharing old photographs, reliving memories and telling stories that connected generations. Above all, Vincent treasured his family and was immensely proud of his sons.
He is survived by his sons Vincent P. Igoe, Jr. (Danielle) and Brian Igoe; his beloved grandchildren Jordan, Mia, Madelyn, Molly, Isabella, Maverick, and Mattis Igoe; and his great-granddaughter Soleia Igoe. He is also survived by the mother of his children Donna Virola, and his sister-in-law Deborah Igoe.
He was predeceased by his son Matthew Igoe, his brother William Igoe, his sister Madeline and his parents Vincent and Virginia Igoe.
Vincent’s legacy of strength, service, humor, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved him.
