Christopher Scarlata

GUILDERLAND – Christopher P. Scarlata, 66, of Guilderland, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2023.  Chris was born in Albany, the son of the late Salvadore P. Scarlata and Josephine M. DiMaggio Scarlata.  He was raised in Averill Park, and was a graduate of Averill Park High School, Hudson Valley Community College, and the University of Vermont, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.  He was employed for many years by IBM Corp. in Burlington, VT, and by Texas Instruments Corp. near Dallas, TX, Micron Corp. in Boise, ID, and Sylvania Corp. in Billerica, MA.  In his spare time, Chris enjoyed inventing new things.

Chris is survived by his sister Susan Bowler (Robert) of Schodack Landing; his brother Steven Scarlata (Judith) of Averill Park; his sister-in-law Helen Scarlata of Albany; and by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother Michael A. Scarlata and his nephew Matthew C. Scarlata.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 p.m.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
