Angelina Giuliano Raso

ALBANY – Angelina Giuliano Raso, 83, of Albany passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Angelina was born on September 13, 1940 in the Town of Roccella Valdemone, Province of Messina, Italy.  She was the beloved oldest daughter of the late Alfio and Josephine Oddo Giuliano.   Angelina arrived in Albany on December 24, 1958 together with the rest of her family.  She worked at Cohoes Garment Coat Factory in downtown Albany as a seamstress for several years.

Angelina was predeceased by her loving  husband Salvatore Raso who passed away in 2014.  She is survived and dearly missed by her son Franco (Courtney) and daughter Teresa.  She was the most loving grandmother (Nonna) of Francesco and Salvatore Raso, who filled her life with so much joy and pride.  Francesco and Salvatore loved eating at Nonna’s house especially when she made her most delicious meatballs and chicken cutlets.  She taught them to enjoy freshly grown vegetables from her garden, and most importantly the true meaning of family and enjoying family dinners and values that will be unforgettable.  She is also survived by her brother Paul Giuliano (Louise), sister Rose Giuliano and brother Carmen Giuliano, M.D. and by many nephews, nieces, cousins, best friends and uncles Giuseppe Oddo (Sarina) and Salvatore Oddo (Anna Maria) in Italy, as well as her brother-in-law Franco Raso (Lena) of Canada.   Mom, we thank you for your amazing love and you will always be in our hearts.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and nurses for the wonderful care throughout Angelina’s illness.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Saturday  morning at 10:15 a.m., and from there to All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St., Albany (behind CVS) at 11:00 a.m.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-6 p.m.   Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
