William S. Gallup, Jr.

ALBANY – William S. Gallup, Jr., 78, of Albany, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.  Bill was born in Worcester, NY, but lived most of his life in Albany.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958, and was employed for many years by Niagara Mohawk Power Corp.  He was a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church, the former St. Margaret Mary’s Church, and the former St. James Church.  He was a member of the St. James Church Holy Name Society.  He also served for many years as a boy scout troop leader.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Clarissa Hart Gallup.  He is survived by his children William C. Gallup (Ann) of Niskayuna, Patricia M. Lindman (Dr. Harry) of Lake George, Stephen J. Gallup of Albany, and Lori A. Gallup, PhD (Will Marshall) of Bel Air, MD; his sister Donna Briscoli (Carlo) of Albany; his sisters in law Lita Snyder of Albany, Mary Swain of Westerlo, and Alicia Lawson (Edwin) of Westerlo; his grandchildren Andrew and Benjamin Gallup, Harrison and Victoria Lindman, and Grace Clarissa Gallup-Marshall; and by many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother Robert Gallup.

The Gallup family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Home Care and the Hospice Inn for the wonderful care they provided to Bill and the family.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Thursday morning at 10:45, and from there to All Saints Catholic Church, Homestead St., Albany at 11:30.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.  Interment will be at 1:30pm Thursday in the Gerald B.
