ALBANY – William G. “Bill” Hart, 56, of Albany, died suddenly Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at his home. Bill was born in Albany and lived here all his life. Bill graduated from Guilderland High School and was employed for many years at the Menands Workshop. He also was a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church and the former St. Margaret Mary’s Church.
Bill is survived by his brother and sister in law Paul V. Hart and Eileen T. Hart of Slingerlands; by his nephews Paul and Brian Hart; and by many friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his mother Marcia Davis Hart, his grandmother Antoinette Davis and his great-aunt Helen Schreck.
My brother had the biggest heart and was the kindest most thoughtful person I ever knew. He touched many lives throughout his life and was always there for you. Bill never complained or asked for anything. Every time he spoke to anyone he would ask how are you doing, how’s the family, how’s the kids, how’s business? Bill lived in his neighborhood for so long everyone knew him and he was a companion and friend to all. Billy also had the sharpest memory and could remember things from many years ago that would just surprise you. He loved telling stories about events that happened in the past and could always tell you who was related to whom. He would never forget a birthday, anniversary or any other occasion and was the first to give a card or some small token of affection even if he didn’t know you. The world was a better place for having Bill Hart for as long as he was here. His family, friends and neighborhood will miss him dearly, as he was highly successful in life with his warm and caring ways.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Monday morning at 8:45, and from there to All Saints Catholic Church at 9:30. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3-6 p.m. Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery. Pippy, Nina and Trisha will all miss Billy’s smiling face. Pippy has known him since he was 4 and her return from Florida in the spring will be made sad by his failure to greet her and share her summer garden. He was a good friend and our sympathy goes out to his family.
