Fare thee well, Tommy. Sure, now I have to face coconut head alone. I don’t really know what to say. I figure you would say,”I’ve passed to the other side, not that there’s anything wrong with that.” But seriously, miss you, ese. See you in the next life.
Chris Hill
Sorry to lose him. Always had a good time hanging out with him.
Around the vase of Life at your slow pace
He has not crept, but turned it with his hands,
And all its sides already understands.
There, girt, one breathes alert for some great race;
Whose road runs far by sands and fruitful space;
Who laughs, yet through the jolly throng has pass’d;
Who weeps, nor stays for weeping; who at last,
A youth, stands somewhere crowned, with silent face.
And he has filled this vase with wine for blood,
With blood for tears, with spice for burning vow,
With watered flowers for buried love most fit;
And would have cast it shattered to the flood,
Yet in Fate’ s name has kept it whole; which now
Stands empty till his ashes fall in it. – Dante Gabriel Rossetti, The House of Life, sonnet XCV, The Vase of Life

I’ll always remember Tom for his sweetness, humor, and caring character. My strongest memory of him is carrying a cooler of goodies to our back yard BBQs, big smile on his face. Also sharing his magic tricks and chatting with him at my grand daughter’s Little League games – of which he was one of the biggest fans!

So sad to hear the world has lost such a kind and caring person. I will always remember what a great Scarecrow he made in our elementary school performance of The Wizard of Oz! I’m not surprised he became a social worker, musician, magician, and kayaker. My deepest condolences to his wife and family.

Tommy, my friend and band mate, the world is a lesser place in your absence. You gave me wonderful insights about music. You were an accomplished instrumentalist (your mando playing has always been unique), and had a great perspective on so many things. It was fun to be around you, playing gigs, going to shows, making recordings, and enjoying life, and along the way, learning from you as well. It is very sad that you are gone form us. Condolences to your family. Rest well my friend.

I am so sorry to hear Tommy has moved on. Although we had lost touch since the family moved away from Altamont many years ago, I remember him fondly. Not at all surprised he kept up with his magician skills.
My sincere condolences to the family.

Tom and I met thru family connections. We graduated, together, from Albany High School in 1982, but never knew one another. But we finally met at a family gathering, when Shelly brought Tom home for family to meet. And I must say, what a nice friendship I shared with Tom. I will miss him very much. But I know we will meet up again, during the Milennial Reign of Christ Jesus !!!
