
ROSWELL, NM – Thomas P. Brophy, 56, died suddenly on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at his home in Roswell, New Mexico. He was born September 1st 1956 in Albany, the son of the late John J and Mary (Holmes) Brophy. He was raised in Copiague, Long Island, and in East Greenbush. Tom graduated from Columbia High School, Hudson Valley Community College, and Cal-State Northridge University. He worked as a microchip design engineer for many years for companies including Hughes Aircraft and Texas Instruments. Most recently Tom worked as a truck driver for Swift Transportation of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Tom enjoyed spending time with friends & family as well as his 4 dogs. He loved to take the dogs hiking in the New Mexico mountains. He was a true inspiration to become a better person, appreciated life to its fullest, gave without question, and loved unconditionally.
Tom is survived by his sisters Regina Dunn (Jim) of Colonie and Mary Quell of Colonie, and his brother Daniel Brophy of Watervliet as well as his nephew and nieces Shaun Quell, Jennifer Quell, and Amber Dunn. He was predeceased by his brother John R Brophy, and his brother-in-law John Quell. A private memorial service for family will be held in the spring.
