LATHAM – Ruth A. Hooks Malossi, 92, of Latham, formerly of Albany, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016. Ruth was born in Jackson Springs, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ellen Meacham Hooks. She lived in the Albany area since the late 1940’s. Ruth was employed for a time by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance, and after taking time to raise her children, returned to the work force at Albany Memorial Hospital and the New York State Dept. of Taxation & Finance. She was a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church and the former St. Margaret Mary’s Church.
Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband Aldo Malossi. She is survived by her son Nicholas Charles Malossi of Feura Bush; her daughter Livia Mormile (Frank) of Latham; her grandsons Frank Mormile, III, and Christopher Mormile (Kara); and her great grandchildren Kaiden Aldo, and Remi Leigh. She was also predeceased by her siblings and their spouses Mildred Cote (Harold), Mary Evelyn Davis (Ray), George Hooks, Joseph Hooks, and Betty Lee (Jim).
Those who wish to remember our darling “Ruthie-Belle” and the gentility and love that was evident to all who were privileged to know her are welcome to join us as follows: Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
