
ALBANY – Rose Mary Murphy, 92, of Albany, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. Rose was born in Ravena, where she lived until marrying and moving to Poughkeepsie in 1961. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Rose worked as a typing supervisor at Loyalty Group in Albany prior to her marriage.
Rose was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Giants and Knicks.
Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband William E. Murphy in 2013. She is survived by her daughter Carol Hough (Michael) of Albany; and her grandchildren Anthony and James Hough. Rose was also predeceased by her parents Anthony Nunziato and Rose Catabana Nunziato; her brothers Carmen I, Carmen II, Joseph, Samuel and William; and her sisters Frances, Odelia, Mary, and Lucy. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family wishes to thank Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center for their kindness and compassion during Rose’s time there.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St., Albany (behind CVS) Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. The mass will be livestreamed at: https://youtu.be/urPpMLzvwso , and will be followed by interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Poughkeepsie. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hans Funeral Home, Albany. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
