Rose A. Cassala

ALBANY – Rose A. Cassala, 82, of Albany, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015, in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.  Rose was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Joseph DePremis and Mary Cerone DePremis.  She lived here all her life, and was employed by the Internal Revenue Service and the National Credit Union Administration.  She was a communicant of Christ the King Church, and was very active in the church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and as a member of the Bereavement Committee, as well as in other ministries.  She also served as a volunteer at the Teresian House for over 20 years.

Rose was predeceased by her husband Vincent M. Cassala, and her son John J. Cassala.  She is survived by her sons Vincent M. Cassala and Paul B. Cassala of Albany; her daughter in law Marybeth Cassala of Latham; her brother Rocco DePremis (Mary); her sisters Angeline O’Brien and Lillian Indilicato (Carmen); her grandchildren Natalie Kosar (Michael), Timothy Cassala (Falon), Nicole Cassala, Katelyn Cassala, and Kyle and Connor Cassala; her great grandchildren Jayden, Mila and Lucas; and by many nieces and nephews.  She was also predeceased by her brother George DePremis and her sister Stella Tronco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church, Sumpter Ave, Guilderland, Thursday morning at 9:00am.  Viewing for friends and relatives will be held at Christ The King Church Wednesday from 4-7pm.  The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather in the church at 4:30 pm Wednesday for a service of prayer and remembrance.  All are welcome.   Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.  The family suggests memorial contributions to Christ the King Church Building Fund, 20 Sumpter Ave., Albany, NY 12203; or to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hans Funeral Home, Albany.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
