
ALBANY – Rosalie V. (Collandra) Buker, 88, of Albany, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017, at St. Peter’s Hospital. Rosalie was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Robert Collandra and Mary Ann D’Amelia Collandra. She was a graduate of the Cathedral Academy, and a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church. Rosalie loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved music, dancing and singing. She and her sister Gloria attended concerts and plays quite frequently, and especially enjoyed outdoor summer community concerts. She also worked for a time in her late husband’s business.
Rosalie was predeceased by her husband Harry Buker. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Demarest of Philmont; her grandchildren Megan Ethier, Ross Hendric, Jr., and Jacklyn Demarest; her sister Gloria Rocco of Albany; her brothers Robert Collandra (Ellie) of Sarasota, FL, and Joseph Collandra of East Greenbush; and by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank Rosalie’s nephew and Godson, Michael D. Collandra, for all his loving support and care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St., Albany (behind CVS) Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Rosalie is the first of her siblings to pass on. Her brothers and sister will grieve for a very long time, as Rosalie was a very vibrant lady who loved to sing , dance, , live and love.
