
GUILDERLAND – Robert T. (Powers) Littlejohn, 75, of Guilderland, died Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Mr. Littlejohn was born in Troy, where he lived until serving in the U.S. Airforce from 1955 until 1959. He was a graduate of Alfred State College and the State University at Albany. He served as a teacher for a time at high schools in Amityville, NY and Batavia, NY and in 1967 began a teaching career at SUNY Cobleskill until retiring in 1993.
Mr. Littlejohn is survived by his beloved wife Mary Anna Nowak; his daughter Michelle Littlejohn; his stepchildren James Ryan (Lori), Matthew Ryan, Regina Ryan Gaule (Christopher), and Teresa Ryan-Rowe (Paul); his sister Claire Powers; his niece Courtney Ryan; his sister in law Leah Powers; and his step grandchildren Chelsea Ryan, Ian, Timothy and Michael Gaule, and Mackenzie Ryan. He was predeceased by his stepson Mark Ryan, his brother James Powers, and his sisters Helen Powers and Kathleen Littlejohn Barbour.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Guilderland, Monday morning at 10:00. Relatives and friends are invited. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 410 River Street, Troy, NY 12180.
