Lisa,
So sorry to hear about your Dad. Both him (and your uncle) we’re extremely nice to me when I was a young salesman on the road and just learning the business. He would always ask me about products, show me the shop & seemed genuinely happy when I would show up making a sales call late in the afternoon. The only time he ever gave me any static is when I showed up with a tie on a hot day and he told me to take the tie off or he wouldn’t let me in.
Your Dad was very respected in the sign trade and will be missed

Lisa,
Vince and I are very sorry to hear about your Dad. I often think about Bob and how much, my brother Bob and I enjoyed his companionship during the WSA meetings. Your Dad helped me feel very comfortable and insured I was part of the group when I first attending the meetings after Bob’s passing. I remember always looking forward to seeing him at our next event, and how disappointed to find out he was retiring out of our group. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Dave, and all your families.

Carol (and family),
We thank Jesus Christ for blessing our lives with Bob (and all of you) over the years. From his smile to his playful sense of humor, to “squirrel-hunting” in the backyard, he will forever live in our hearts as one of the great men of God. His mission was always to share love and compassion while demonstrating the love of the Lord in all he said and did. Please know you are all in our prayers and we are just a phone call and short drive away if you need ANYTHING. We love you and are here for you as you go through this challenging time of grief. You are not alone. Remember this when you need encouragement: “I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “Plans to encourage you, to lift you up, to bless and prosper you and never to harm you.” (Jeremiah 29:11). We love you!!

Hi Carol…after receiving the news of Bob’s passing Betty and I began to reflect on the good times we had back when Bob was in good health at camp. He could be such a comedian and realy embrace us with his gentle spirit almost every time we had occasion to talk or interact. Best part of this life experience is knowing the fact he now is with the Lord and basking in His neverending glory and that when He calls , you too will be in the same heavenly place. The house He has gone ahead and prepared for you and Bob will be eternal. Our thoughts are focused on you and yours and our prayers are one’s asking for peace, restfulness and joy in knowing the price was paid more then 2000 years ago. God bless you.

Lord, if there were words that could heal a heart, I would speak them. If there were songs that could fill the emptiness, I would sing them. If there were arms big enough to hold the loss, I would extend them. But only You, Lord, can offer these precious mercies. In Your grace, please grant them, Lord.
Thinking of you Carol and praying God’s love encompasses you during this time. In His love, Rena Collins, Naples FL

Carol,
I was so sorry to read of Bob’s death. I have such fond memories of you both at the lake. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I lost my David in October and know how hard this time can be for you all. Remember he will always be with you in your heart.

Carol and Family,
It’s the everyday friendship, the quiet sharing, lending a hand or cracking a joke, shouting out to one another (from our driveways)
“come on over for coffee” that feeds the body and soul. There was nothing like 2 grown men and their sarcastic remarks as to had the better lawn. One day Bob was talking to Ed when Quincy relieved himself on Ed’s cherished lawn. Bob apologized but Ed said ” that’s okay Bob, Quincy never gets to relieve himself on a real lawn”. We miss the friendship and Bob will always be in our hearts and minds. Love you, Carol.

Carol, Lisa, Erin and Jennifer,
I am so sorry to hear that “Mr. Hanley” passed away. My Mom called and let me know. It has been a long time since I have seen any of you but my heart felt feelings remain as they always have with all of you. Erin was my best friend growing up! Lisa was a great friend too! I practically lived at the Hanley’s alot of my pre-teen and teen years. Mr & Mrs Hanley treated me like one of their own daughters. I was always welcomed, that is just the way it was! It is amazing to me that what was instilled by both of you has remained with me. I remember you both loving one another so much and the good times I had with all of you. I remember going to church and what a great experience that was and how that has remained with me always. He was a great man, Husband and Father. His strength, wisdom and personality shined like no other along with a big smile! I have fond memories with all of you and I wish I could be there in person for condolences. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of sorrow.
Love Always,
Cathie (Aalto) Moreno

Hello Carol,
I first met Bob and Jim when working with New York Telephone. It was when they had first begun the sign business. Liked Bob right away and later both he and Jim joined the Exc . Assoc. sat with Bob many times for lunch an or dinner. Of course you were there often also. I think the last time I met you and Bob together was while shopping In Naples.
Bob always had a smile and a great sense of humor. I’ll miss not bumping into him in FL, he was a wonderful guy.
God bless you in this difficult time. Bob Ives

Dear Carol and Family,
Our hearts and prayers are with you. Know Bob’s struggle was long and difficult. Also know that he is now in perfect peace and joined that ‘great cloud of witnesses’ seeing Jesus face to face.
May all the comfort and peace of God in Christ Jesus truly manifest now and leave the memories that not only bring tears but bring contentment and much laughter.
We love you Sis. So grateful to have had you and Bob down here @NHM even for a short while.

The Gaspary Family, Mernie and Fred
To the whole Hanley family,
We were all so sad to hear of Bob’s passing. The first thought that came to our minds was that he is finally out of pain. Somehow that made his passing a little easier for us to accept. The second thought that came to our minds was how hard it is for his loved ones to lose him. That made his passing very hard to bear. We know all to well what is is like to lose someone that we thought would be with us forever but over time came to realize that they are still here with us. Not in the physical sense but in the spiritual one and they are sending us signs all the time. When times are tough or happy or the memories are flowing is the time when they are closest to us. Always look for the signs because they will be there. We know that for a fact because (Ralph, dad, Mr. O) sends them to us all the time.
Sending you all our love and prayers at this difficult time in your lives.

Tony & I will keep you all in our prayers. I’m so grateful we got to see you both this past winter. He was such a wonderful man. Lively, funny, caring, God loving man. The best of the best. We know he is with the Lord, no more suffering. I will not forget what he last said to me, as I was leaving your house that evening. He looked at me and said we’re going to beat this.
