ALTAMONT – Rita Ann Rosenthal, 76, of Altamont, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a long illness.  Rita was born in Troy, the daughter of the late Leo and Cora Wood Guerin.  She was a graduate of Mildred Elley, and was employed for a time by the Albany Academy.  Rita was a communicant of St. Matthew’s Church in Voorheesville, and previously of St. Lucy’s Church in Altamont.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and she always looked forward to her annual trip to Florida, as well as visits to casinos and Cape Cod.

Rita is survived by her beloved husband Vincent J. Rosenthal; her children Michael Rosenthal (Kathleen) of Glenmont, Lisa Peasley (William) of North Greenbush, and Christopher Rosenthal (Bonnie) of Guilderland; her grandchildren Emily Brown (Connor), Joshua Rosenthal, Matthew and Alexandra Peasley, and Bryanna and Jarod Rosenthal.  She was predeceased by her brother Leo Guerin, and her sister Alice Giuffre.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Albany Medical Center, NYOH and her home care nurse Sue for their compassionate care.

A Mass of  Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Matthew’s Church, Voorheesville, on Monday, December 21st, at 11:30 a.m.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.  Masks and social distancing guidelines will be observed.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1 Marcus Blvd #104, Albany, NY 12205.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
