ALBANY – Peter Joseph Fournier, 79, died Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at St. Peters hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Plattsburgh, he honorably served in the United States Army after graduating from Plattsburgh High School. He worked as a cook and manager at The Center for Disability Services and RPI. He was also a real estate agent for many years, including owning his own real estate firm. He enjoyed traveling to the beach, especially a 30th anniversary trip to Hawaii. He loved his New York sports teams, the Giants, Yankees, and Rangers. He loved his family very much, especially watching their sporting events and was always willing to provide unsolicited advice regarding their athletic endeavors as he saw fit. Peter was an excellent athlete in his youth and was given the opportunity to try out for the Boston Red Sox after they observed his baseball skills while he was stationed outside Boston. He was an excellent cook, gifting his family and friends with many delicious meals over his lifetime. Unfortunately, he took most of his recipes with him when he left us.
Peter was predeceased by his parents Peter M. and Doris R. Fournier. He is survived by Ellen, his loving wife of 51 years ; his son Christopher Fournier (Dana); his daughter Sara Gonzalez (Angel); his grandchildren Jeremy and Aiden Fournier and Amiyah Gonzalez; and his two best (four-legged) friends Ben and Abby.
