ALBANY,  NY –  Paul A. Amodeo, 87, of Albany, NY passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peters Hospital. Paul was born in Albany and lived here most of his life until Paul and his beautiful Grace and moved to Port Charlotte, FL in 1984, where they spent 35 wonderful years together.

Paul was a graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany.  He proudly served his country in the US Army in Korea.  Paul was also a pilot and served as the first president of the South Albany Airport Assoc., in Selkirk, NY and as president of the Albany Skin Diving Club. He sold insurance for NY Life for 5 years. Paul was known as the builder of brick homes in the Whitehall Rd. area. While in Port Charlotte, Paul served on the planning board “board of appeals.”  He was a member of the Zaloga Post in Albany.

Paul was predeceased by his wife Grace Elizabeth (Edick), and his parents Anthony and Salvadora (Scarlata) Amodeo.  He is survived by his loving family: his sons Paul A. Amodeo, Jr. and spouse Margaret of Colonie, and Lee R. Amodeo and spouse Cheryl of Southbridge, MA; his brother Anthony Amodeo (Mary) of Albany; his sister Col. Marilyn Floro, USAF, Retired, of Richmond, VA; his grandchildren Jennifer Barber and spouse Jonathan, Noel Amodeo and spouse Allison, Phillip Amodeo and spouse Tricia, Matthew Amodeo and spouse Mary Ellen, Beth, Emily and Gillian Amodeo; and by six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m., and from there to the Church of St. Clare, 1947 Central Ave, Albany at 9:00am, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.  Entombment will follow in the Edgewood Chapel Mausoleum at Memory Gardens in Colonie.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Monday evening from 4-8 pm.
