William R. Suchs

SLINGERLANDS - William R. “Bill” Suchs, 95, of Slingerlands, NY passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 with his loving family by his side. He was born in November 1928 in Yonkers, NY. Bill enlisted in the Army after graduating college in 1952. He was an armored division officer during the Korean War and honorably discharged in 1953. He was Superintendent of Recreation in Watertown, NY until he retired in 1986, and was also a well known basketball, baseball and football official in the Watertown area for 39 years.

Bill is survived by his son David W. Such of San Jose, CA; his daughter Carol Ferguson of Castleton, NY; his grandson Greg Ferguson (who was his best buddy); Greg’s wife Kristina Green; and great granddaughter Ellie of Rensselaer, NY. His wife of 52 years, Dorothy, passed away in 2005.
