Virginia “Kip” Kotecki

LOUDONVILLE – Virginia L. “Kip” Barr Kotecki of Loudonville, entered into eternal life with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.  Kip was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Jack Barr and Mary Kenyon Barr.  She was a graduate of the Cathedral Academy, and met and married her husband and “fox hole” buddy in August 1952, and from then on lived a happily ever after life.  They always had each other’s back and were never apart.  Her life was devoted to being a giving and loving wife and mother.  Later in her life, Kip became known in the fashion business for her unique style and ability to dress many of the local ladies of fashion.  She was employed by M. Solomon for 25 years.  She also directed the Saratoga Fashion Show, where her talent in fashion was displayed on a larger stage.  Still later in life, her artistic side blossomed into paintings, and many local homes proudly display her work.

Kip will be most remembered for her happiness and sense of humor, which she shared with her friends and neighbors in Loudonville, Lake George, and her wintering friends in Sand Key, FL.

Kip is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 63 years, Stephen J. Kotecki; her three sons Stephen Kotecki, II (Patty), Keith Kotecki, and Paul Kotecki (Lynn); her grandchildren Brielle, Keith Jr., Courtney, and Paul “PJ” Kotecki, and David Russo; her brother John Barr (Doris); her sister Suzanne Kendall; her niece Debbie Carney, as well as several other nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her granddaughter Kara A. Kotecki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, December 5th, at 10:30am in St. Pius X Church, Crumite Rd., Loudonville.  Relatives and friends are invited.  There will be no calling hours.  Interment will be held privately in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice Inn, St. Peter’s Hospital, 315 S Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hans Funeral Home, Albany.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit
