GUILDERLAND – Ruth F. Roper Brown, 82, of Guilderland, died Monday, November 1, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Brown was born in New York City, but lived most of her life in the Capital District. She was employed by the New York State Insurance Dept., retiring in 1983.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her beloved husband James E. Brown; her devoted children Judith Hynes (William) of Gilboa, Bruce Lawrence (Rita) of Poestenkill, Gail Young (Robert) of East Durham, Linda Hursa (Michael) of Stephentown, and Charles Nagel (Brenda) of East Nassau; her brother Frank Roper (Joan) of Hobe Sound, FL; and by fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, and Community Hospice of Albany for the wonderful care they provided to Mrs. Brown.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Friday morning at 10:00. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
