Patsy A. Biance

ALBANY – Patsy A. Biance, 96, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on Monday, August 26, 2013.  Patsy was born in Albany and lived here all his life.  He was employed for many years as a boilermaker for the New York Central Railroad at the West Albany Shops.  He also was a highly skilled welder, and continued his welding work into his nineties.  He was a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church and the former St. Margaret Mary’s Church, a devoted member of the West Albany Italian Benevolent Society for 70 years, and a member of the Boilermakers Local 197.  He also was a bowler for many years at the Playdium in Albany.  Patsy loved gardening, watching Yankees games, and attending neighborhood parties and card games.

Patsy was predeceased by his wife Mary Rose in 2005.  He is survived by his children Anthony  Biance of Knox, and Michael P. (Maureen) Biance of Latham; his brother Floyd Biance of Albany; his grandchildren Wendy (Gary) Ryan of Clayton, NC, Michael A. (Dana) Biance of Latham, and Tina Biance and Chris Biance of Albany; his great-grandchildren Liam and Casey Ryan; Mikayla and Mason Biance; Christian and Adelyn Biance; and Michael Ferris.  He was predeceased by his daughter Frances Bubonia.

Special thanks to Patsy’s devoted aides from All Metro Health Care, especially Puma, Ebony, Kibresha and Tina; and also to Dr. Kevin Costello for his outstanding care these last months.  Extra special thanks to Denise Cossingham for her years of care and devotion to Patsy.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Friday morning at 8:15, and from there to All Saints Catholic Church, Homestead St., Albany, at 9:00.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7 pm.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, send a sympathy card, or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit
