This followed two years of “Living” first with Lung and then Brain Cancer.  Maureen donated her earthly body to the Anatomical Gift Program at Albany Medical College and her corneas to the Lion’s Eye Bank at Albany.

Maureen was born in Jersey City, NJ on May 18, 1941. She married John Adams in 1988. She was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Ida (Reconzone) O’Loughlin, and her brother, Donald. She is survived by her loving husband, John and their devoted dog, Bear; sons Clarence D. (Kimberly) Schmidt, Cobleskill, and Keith C. (Nancy) Schmidt, Pattersonville; grandson, Eric (Sarah) Schmidt, Scotia; granddaughter, Daniella Marie Schmidt, Pattersonville; great-grandson, Chase A. Schmidt; and step-daughter, Abby May Adams, East Orleans, MA.  She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Nice of Ocala, FL; niece, Darlene (John) Grady, Ocala, FL; nephews William (Kellie) Nice, Lindenwold, NJ and Steven Nice and grandnephew, Isaac Nice, Ocala, FL; her brother and sisters-in-law, Timothy and (Joanne) & James and (Sandra) Adams along with their children, spouses and grandchildren; Timothy (Jessie) Angelina & Alaina; Michael (Joslyn) Jack; Kara (PJ Henry) Olivia & Sam; and Matthew (Jenna) and Eva.

Maureen “lived” most of her life in the Capital Region, first in Mariaville with her two sons, then, moved with her Husband John to Amsterdam, and finally in 2003, they built their dream home for which she was the primary designer along with her friend Darlene and her family from Northgate Homes Inc. on property she loved in Hagaman.  She was employed for many years by Standard Furniture, Cushing Stone, Cranesville Block and Wm. Larned & Sons before becoming self-employed and serving as manager of a family property management/apartment rental business for the past 20+ years.

Maureen and her family would especially like to publically offer their sincere appreciation for the care & support of her at home and beyond by Kathy (daughter by friendship), Gina, Jeanie, and Dottie; her medical, nursing, personal care & technical teams at St. Mary’s, Dr. Sheridan’s office, Community Hospice, CHC and NYOH; the powerful prayer warriors from all over including her Pastor, Ray Barnett and her church, The Time for Truth Ministries.  Thanks also for the encouraging gifts, cards, CDs (faith and music), phone calls & visits by so many that offerred these comforts. In addition, one other special note of thanks to Debbie for giving Maureen “Courage,” her ever-present cuddly lion who, along with our Savior Jesus, was present during her treatments, when approached by a needle, and just any other time she needed a boost of “Courage.” Memorial contributions can be made to either the Time for Truth Ministries, Amsterdam, NY; The Anatomical Gift Program at Albany Medical College; The Foundation of St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam, NY or The Community Hospice of Amsterdam.

Maureen’s desire is that anyone affected by her leaving, not grieve, but celebrate her’s and their lives together by giving all the praise, honor, glory and worship to Father God, his son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. There will be a brief Memorial on Saturday, November 20, 2010 @ 2 PM at the Time for Truth Ministries, 46 Market Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
