ALBANY – Mary A. Stang, 88, of Albany, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital.  Mary was born in Catskill, the daughter of the late John Allardice and M. Alice Wayne Allardice.  She was raised in Nashville, TN, and Cairo, IL before moving to Albany for several years after high shool.  She then lived for many years in Peekskill, Tarrytown, and New York City, and returned to Albany about fifteen years ago.  She was employed for many years by Readers Digest in New York City and in Pleasantville.  In recent years she enjoyed frequenting area restaurants, and was known as Aunt Mary wherever she went.

 Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Caspar H. “Jack” Stang in 2001.  She is survived by her brother in law Joseph A. Losier of Johnson City; her dear friend Linda Dwyer; and by many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brothers Charles, George, and John Allardice; and by her sister Helen Losier.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the Parish of Mater Christi, Saturday morning, February 15th, at 9:00am.  Relatives and friends are invited.  Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.  Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Northeastern Chapter, 16 Wade Road, Latham, NY 12110.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, send a sympathy card, or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
