Marjorie Ann (Soules) Babkiewicz

ALBANY - Marjorie Ann (Soules) Babkiewicz, 82, of Schenevus, has passed away on April 2, 2026 in Punta Gorda, FL. Marjorie was born March 1944, the daughter of the late Dever W. Soules and Grace M. Estes Soules. Marjorie received a parochial education and graduated from the University of the State of New York (Albany), The Elms (Holyoke, MA), achieving a Masters degree from American International College (Springfield, MA). Marjorie worked as a Physical Education Teacher and School Counselor in various Massachusetts public schools. 

In addition to her love of education, Marjorie loved sports. She was an accomplished English equestrian and instructor. She was a huge fan of Quarter horses, but Morgans were her favorite. Marjorie joined the Troy Judo Club (NY), where she excelled. Her achievements earned her an invitation to practice her Shodan (black belt) skills at the Kodokan (Judo Institute) in Mito, Japan. Marjorie continued to experience life fully, earning her pilot's license to fly single engine Cessna planes and certification as a Deep Water Boat Pilot. She had many hobbies that included traveling around the US and gardening.

She retired after 35 years of service as an Employee Assistance Professional at Baystate Health Organization (Springfield, MA).  Marjorie moved to Punta Gorda, FL and joined the Peace River Power Squadron. She became a member of the chapter's leadership where she continued to work in a professional capacity. 

Marjorie is survived by her only son, Mitsuru Kudo, daughter in law, Lola and two grandsons, Jacob and Kaiyu. 

A private burial will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Albany, NY.
