Joseph J. Lue, Sr.

GUILDERLAND – Joseph James Lue, Sr., 63, of Guilderland, died at his home Saturday, June 26, 2010 due to complications from diabetes.  Joe was born in Albany, the son of the late Nicholas P. and Helen C. Lue.   He was a graduate of the Sage Colleges, and was employed for many years by the NY State Higher Education Services Corp. until his retirement.     He was a communicant of St. Madeline Sophie Church in Guilderland, where he was a former member of the church choir.

 Mr. Lue is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Joanne V. Marino Lue; his sons Joseph J. Lue, Jr. (Carrie) of Latham, and Nicholas J. Lue (Sarah Waite) of Latham; his brothers Ronald J. Lue of Albany, and Paul C. Lue (Joanne) of Amsterdam; his grandchildren Daniel, James, Isabella Grace, and Kellen Lue; his mother-in-law Grace Marino Cataldo of Ballston Lake; his brothers and sisters-in-law John Marino (Mary) and Rosanne Greenwood (Charles) of Ballston Lake; and by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Thursday morning at 9:00, and from there to St. Madeline Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Road in Guilderland at 10:00.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.  Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.  Because of Joe’s deep devotion to animals, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com .
