ROME, ITALY – John Mancini, 79, passed away on December 22, 2010 after a short illness.  Born on Feb. 1, 1931 in Villalago P. Aquila, Italy, he came to Albany, NY in 1947 to live in the neighborhood of Madison Ave. & Grand St.  He became a mason in 1950 and joined the membership of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsworkers Local #2 & 6, retiring in 1992.  In 1952 he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.

 John was predeceased by his parents Anthony & Marie Mancini.  He is survived by his sister Rita Gatta and a niece Mariella.  John was close friends with the Lucarelli family.
