Joan J. Wagner

ALBANY – Joan Josephine Wagner, age 89,a lifelong Albany resident, passed away on December 25, 2020 at her son’s Poughquag home in the loving care of family.  Joan was born  on May 9, 1931 and was the daughter of the late BJ and Ella (McDade) Farley. She graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1949.  Joan will be remembered for her strength, caring nature, and selflessness.  She leaves a legacy of endless love for her family and an eternally positive outlook on life.  Some of her simple joys were blueberry muffins, creamsicles and a good cup of coffee.  Most of all, Joan loved spending time with her family.  She especially enjoyed attending her granddaughter’s sporting events and dance recitals and was their biggest fan.  Joan proudly worked for Human Resources at Albany City Hall and School 10 from 1975 to 1984.  She also volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Altar Society and the food pantry.

Joan was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Robert A Wagner, far before his time in 1962. She is also preceded by her dear brother Thomas Farley. Joan is the beloved mother of Bob (Cathie) Wagner, Patricia (Michael) Harris, and cherished grandmother of Jennifer and Michelle Harris.
