ALBANY – Jane M. Kubisch, 97 of Albany, the beloved wife of the late John J. Kubisch entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the Grand Nursing Home in Altamont.  Jane was born on March 25, 1925, in Albany, the younger daughter of the late George J. and Esther C. Keenan Murray. In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was predeceased by her sister, Mary E. Murray; and her grandson, Matthew C. Scarlata. She is survived by her five children, Judith G. Scarlata (Steve), Sharon R. Thayer (the late Brian), J. Gary Kubisch, Thomas J. Kubisch and Marirose L. Howland (Greg); as well as nine grandchildren, Steven Scarlata (Micaela), Sharon Wait (Joe), Kathryn Thayer, Alex Thayer, Kimberly Kubisch, Brittany Barnard (Brett), Nicole Kaminski (Steve), Shannon Howland, and Sammy Saleh and six great-grandchildren.

Jane graduated from Albany Business College and then pursued a 37-year-long career with the N.Y.S. Dept. of Audit and Control. Jane served as the private secretary for three directors of the New York State Retirement System, Ronald Hurley, Kenneth Stahl and John McManamin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, in All Saints Catholic Church (formerly the Church of Saint Margaret Mary), 16 Homestead St., Albany. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Albany.  Those wishing to remember Jane in a special way are encouraged to make a memorial donation in her name to All Saints Catholic Church, 12 Rosemont St., Albany, NY, 12203.
