Jane Hearn

BALLSTON SPA – Jane Hearn passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017.  She passed as she had hoped, being full of life one day, then peacefully passing the next day, without any period of suffering.  She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, her son, Garry, and her brother David Sturgis of Hingham, MA. Jane is survived by her children Stacy FitzPatrick (Tim), John (Kathleen), David (Wendy), eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Jane is remembered by her family and friends for her immense courage and bravery, having fought through difficult situations caring for her husband,Jack, and her son, Garry, and beating cancer, twice.  She is best loved and remembered for her intelligence, dry wit, great gardening skills and the way she lived her life with class and dignity.  Jane graduated from Boston University with a BS in Psychology and was a teaching assistant at Ballston Spa Central Schools. She retired in 1988 and loved her regular lunch outings with her fellow retirees.  Jane was also a member of the Malta Ridge Methodist Church and loved volunteering her time there on several committees and decorating the church for all occasions.  Many thanks to Pastor Penny and all her friends at the church for their loving support.  A service for Jane will take place after the snow is gone in May, when her marker stone and ashes can be placed next to her husband and son.  In lieu of flowers, Jane would prefer donations to the Malta Ridge Methodist Church, 729 Malta Ave, Malta, NY 12020.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hans Funeral Home, Albany.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com .
