Helen E. Merriman

LATHAM – Helen E. Merriman, 95, formerly of Albany and Colonie, died Monday, July 2, 2012 at Our Lady of Hope Residence in Latham.  Mrs. Merriman was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Henry J. and Mary Fish Rosenberger.  She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany, and was employed by the A&P Market, the D&H Railroad and later by the New York State Retirement System.  She was a communicant for many years of the former Our Lady of Angels Church, and a member of the Our Lady of Angels School Mother’s Association.

Mrs. Merriman was predeceased by her husband Andrew J. Merriman, Sr. in 2003, and by her son Andrew J. Merriman, Jr. in 1993.  She is survived by her children Susan A. Daley of Valatie, Peter J. Merriman (Catey) of Summerville, SC, Paul F. Merriman of Honolulu, HI, and Lynne M. DellaRocca (Thomas) of Colonie; her daughter in law Cathy Merriman of Loudonville; her grandchildren Jeanne Pearce (Steve), Mark Daley (Kate), Nicole and Scott Merriman, Zachary and Sara Merriman, Steven Merriman, and Courtney, Kristen, and Lauren DellaRocca; and a great grandson, Finn Pearce.

Funeral services will be held in Our Lady of Hope Residence, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham, Friday morning at 10:30am.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the home Thursday from 4-7 p.m.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.  The family suggests memorial contributions to Our Lady of Hope Residence, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham, NY 12110.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, send a sympathy card, or obtain directions to Our Lady of Hope Residence, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
