GUILDERLAND – George Harold Stott, 86, of Guilderland, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. George was born in Albany and served twenty four years on active duty and six years reserve duty with the U.S. Navy. He served in Rhode Island, Bethesda, Camp LeJeune, and Long Beach, CA; and aboard the USS Enterprise, USS Eisenhower, USS Intrepid, and USS Tarawa. After service in the U.S. Navy he returned to the Capital District and settled in Guilderland while working at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy. Throughout his career in the Navy and St. Mary’s he worked as a medic, an LPN, and as a respiratory technician. George was a member of the American Legion, and served as a Boy Scout leader. He loved his family, watching hockey games, enjoyed stamp collecting and ceramics. He was a member of the McKownville United Methodist Church.
George was predeceased by his beloved wife Adrianne C. “Connie” Acker Stott, and by his son George Harold Stott, Jr. He is survived by his children Harold D. Stott (Carolyn), James A. Stott (Angela), and Patricia M. Stott, all of Guilderland, and Amy Beth DeVall (Chris) of Colonie; his grandchildren Luke Stott (Ivy Spas), Taylor Gill (Kendall), Kenneth Stott (Mackenzy Gray), Arthur Stott (Dawn Matthews), Dakota Dunn (Garrett), Stephanie DeVall, Adrianna DeVall, and Patrick DeVall (Samantha Tanner); and by his great grandchildren Atheliah Dunn, Jaxson Stott, and Kamden Stott.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Monday afternoon, January 12th, at 1:30 p.m., and from there to McKownville United Methodist Church, 1565 Western Ave, Guilderland, at 2:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland. The family suggests memorial contributions to either the Memorial Fund, McKownville United Methodist Church, 1565 Western Ave, Albany, NY 12203; or Tunnel to Towers; or the Wounded Warrior Project.
