Edward L. Holdridge

ALBANY – Edward L. Holdridge, 66, of Albany, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.  Mr. Holdridge was born in Albany, and lived here all his life.  He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and attended Siena College.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war.  In the early 1970’s, he owned Tia’s Pizzeria on New Scotland Avenue in Albany.  At the time of his death he was employed at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.  He was a true sports enthusiast, and an avid fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, and horse racing.  He also enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends.

Mr. Holdridge was the son of the late Warren G. Holdridge and Mary R. Pietrzak Holdridge.  He is survived by his brother and sisters Joanne (David) Stammel of Niverville, NY, Teresa Zakutny of Albany, and Donald J. (Elaine) Holdridge of Amsterdam; his dear niece Kelly Stammel of Niverville, NY; and by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was predeceased by his brother Warren J. Holdridge, and his brother- in- law Jack Zakutny.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  There will be no calling hours.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.  The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hans Funeral Home, Albany.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or send a sympathy card, please visit
