Antoinette M. Miller

GUILDERLAND – Antoinette Marie Miller (nee Caimano), passed away quietly on April 25, 2018 in Albany, N.Y. at the age of 95.   “Etta” was born June 13, 1922 in Albany into her family of five sisters and two brothers.  She was married to George Norman Miller of Albany (1922-1971) in 1944.  Antoinette worked for the IRS after graduating from Cathedral High School, transferring to the Army Air Corps during WWII.  She and new husband George were stationed in Tuscon, Arizona where she did clerical work.  At the close of the war, Antoinette traveled by train from Tuscon to Albany, pregnant with their first child “Tom”.  After raising three children, she returned to work and ultimately retired from the state of New York.

Antoinette enjoyed a long, healthy life filled with family and friends, living in Guilderland since 1961.  She traveled to Europe twice, Hawaii a few times, the Caribbean as well as most of the US mainland.  Always welcoming visitors, her cooking, hospitality and friendly smile will be remembered by many including the 100 or so who attended her 90th birthday party!

She is survived by her daughter Susan Miller Colthurst (Eric) of Northville, Michigan; and sons George Thomas Miller (Debbie) of Cornville, Arizona, and Steven Miller of Manitou Springs, Colorado, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Antoinette is also survived by her sister Elizabeth DeFrancisco and by a few score of nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families, everyone of whom she loved and loved being part of their lives.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Saturday morning at 8:15 a.m., and from there to All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St., Albany (behind CVS) at 9:00 a.m.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 p.m.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit
