Anthony Conti

ALBANY – Anthony Conti, 89, of Albany, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital.  Anthony was born in Albany, the son of the late Quinto Conti and Susie Denucci Conti, and lived here all his life.  He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, including service aboard the USS Langley (CVL-27).  After the war he was employed for many years by Laborers Union Local 190 until retirement, and in retirement he was employed by the Albany City School District.  He was a member of the North Albany American Legion 1610.  Anthony also enjoyed bowling and bingo, and trips to Atlantic City.  Together with his wife Clara, he traveled extensively including Europe, South America, Hawaii, and on a number of cruises.

Anthony is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Clara Pelton Conti; his children Daniel Conti (Jane) of Stillwater, Elizabeth Bishop (the late Fred) of Troy, Thomas Conti (Judy) of Albany, and William Conti (Teri) of Orlando, FL; his sister in law Theresa Conti of Albany; and by thirteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his siblings Anna Labunski (Walter), Louise Conti, Alfred Conti, and Frank Conti.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Thursday morning at 8:15, and from there to All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St., Albany (behind CVS) at 9:00.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.  Entombment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.  The family suggests memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
