Mildred G. Logan

ALBANY – Mildred Grace (Mead) Logan 92, passed away January 24, 2018.  Mildred was born September 30, 1925 to the late Walter A. and Margaret Miller Mead. She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church of Albany where she was very active throughout her life.  Mildred graduated from Albany High School in 1943 and then went to work for the D&H Railroad. She married Francis E. Logan and they had three children. She went back to work as an Administrative Assistant at the Cancer Society and then the Leukemia Society once her children went to school.

Mildred and Francis loved to travel. They went to Maine every summer. They also traveled throughout Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands. Mildred loved to read and garden. She looked forward to gathering with her family for Holidays and Birthday celebrations.

Mildred was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Francis, her cousin Marilyn Miller Warner, and her parents Walter and Margaret Mead. She is survived by her son, Richard Logan, her daughter, Sandra O’Connor (Neil Jr), her son, Bruce Logan (Kathy), her four grandchildren, Rebecca Holdsworth (George), Matthew Logan, Elizabeth Franz (Brian), and Neil O’Connor III (Katie), and eight great grandchildren: Olivia, Sarah, Kiah and Garner Holdsworth, Briggs Logan, Ryan and Emma O’Connor and Abigail Franz.

Mildred’s family would like to thank the staff at Atria Crossgate Assisted Living, where she lived for over 2 years, for their wonderful care.  We also greatly appreciate the care she received at St Peter’s Nursing and Rehab and the Community Hospice.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave, Albany on Sunday January 28th from 3:30-6:30. A funeral service will be held January 29, 2018 at Hans Funeral Home at 9 and proceed to First Lutheran Church for a 10:00 service followed by burial at Graceland Cemetery.
