Mary E. Blendell

ALBANY – Mary Ellen Blendell, 78, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital to be with her beloved husband Tommy Blendell, who predeceased her in 1996.  Mary was born December 11, 1935 in Albany, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Emma Fischer.  She lived all her life in the area.  She was employed for a time by Albany Medical Center, and also by the New York State Dept. of Taxation & Finance.

Mary is survived by her sons John Alphonse Blendell (Cathy), and Michael Blendell (Stephanie); her sister Emma Hein; her sisters in law Linda Fischer and Peggy Campisi; her brother in law Robert Blendell (Francis); many nieces and nephews, and her special friends Pat Yafchak and Dolly Manderson.  She was predeceased by her brother George Fischer in June 2013.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Friday evening at 6:00.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-6 p.m.  Interment will be held privately in Albany Rural Cemetery.
