
ALBANY – Marjorie Joan Anderson O’Brien, 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. Joan was born at Jamaica Hospital in New York City, lived in Queens Village, and moved to Guilderland, NY in 1966. She worked for the Guilderland Central School District for many years. Joan was an avid bridge player, and was always up for competitive games and puzzles with family and friends.
Joan was the wife of the late Clarence O’Brien, mother of the late Laurie O’Brien, daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Anderson, and sister of the late Robert and Donald Anderson. She is survived by daughters Christine (Christopher) Miceli of Slingerlands, NY, and Kimberly (Edward) Roskiewicz of Barrington, RI. Joan was Grammy to Brien, Rebecca and Erin Miceli, and Kathryn and Jordan Roskiewicz. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Friday evening, June 15, at 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Francis DeSales Cemetery, Elka Park, NY, at the convenience of the family.
