Margaret Rose Garcia

ALBANY – Margaret Rose Glavin Garcia passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, with her family by her side, after suffering a stroke.  She was born in Albany on October 18, 1937 to Dr. James and Cecelia Glavin.  She was a graduate of Port Henry High School and attended the College of St. Rose in Albany.  She married and spent her life in Albany.

Margaret is survived by her son Joseph Garcia, Jr. of Port Henry; her her daughter Jana (Ria) Perrino of Delmar; her grandchildren Tiffany Shaffer (Stefen) and Angelina Perrino; three great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters Judith Lemza [ Antonio] of Port Henry, James Glavin of Kansas, Edward Glavin [Lois] of North Carolina, Joseph Glavin of Texas, Kathleen Henry of South Carolina, Thomas Glavin [Marie] of California and David Glavin [Sheri] of Arizona.  Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her son James [Bo] Garcia; her parents and Dr. James and Cecelia Glavin; and her sisters Anne McClendon, Patricia O’Brien, and Sarah Glavin; and her brother Michael Glavin.

By Margaret’s request, there will be no calling hours.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 18th, at 11am in St Patrick’s Church, Port Henry, with burial to follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.  To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
