(Lorraine) and Raymond Martel.

The family extends their many thanks to the very special caregivers at Julie Blair Nursing and Rehab Center for their support and excellent care; to Albany County Hospice caregivers; to Dr. Earl Zimmerman and Beth Smith-Boivin at the Alzheimer’s Center of Albany Med and the special staff of Bright Horizons at the St. Joseph Provincial House.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Friday morning at 9:15, and from there to All Saints Church (formerly St. Margaret Mary’s Church), Homestead St., Albany at 10:00.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home today from 4-8 p.m.  Interment will be in the Gerald H. B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.  Those wishing to remember Larry in a special way may send a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Center, c/o Albany Med Foundation, PO Box 8928, Albany, NY  12208 or to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, view or print a prayer card, or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.

    OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND

    Death is nothing at all.

    I have only slipped away into the next room.

    Whatever we were to each other,

    That we are still.

    Call me by my old familiar name,

    Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.

    Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.

    Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.

    Let my name be the household word it always was.

    Let it be spoken without effort.

    Life means all that it ever meant.

    It is the same as it ever was;

    There is absolutely unbroken continuity.

    Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight?

    I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,

    Just around the corner…..

    All is well,

    Nothing is past;

    Nothing is lost.

    One brief moment and all will be as it was before,

    Only infinitely better, infinitely happier and forever, we will be one together.
