Lately, it seems, I am emersed in thoughts of “would’ve, should’ve, could’ve… either visited, called, sent a card, etc., to the many neighbors and friends who seem to have passed from this world so quickly. In Laura’s case, I never saw her without a smile on a face that I now remember as “angelic.” Quick to laughter, her stories of how she and Ted met were told with such wit, such happy references, such remarkable happenstance that it was easy to be in her company. I will remember the card games with her sister, Ted, and Faith in the small room here at Avila. I was invited to “sit in” with them and learn. I was either too tired, or too busy, etc. Now, whenever I pass by that room I will always remember her. Anyway, to Laura’s family, Ed and I send our heartfelt sympathy at the loss of such a family treasure. And Ted and Faith (we had not met your other siblings) you will be remembered in our prayers as Laura travels to her true home where time will have no meaning and pain will have disappeared.
God Bless you and your family. With love, we are, friends and neighbors, Ed and Aris.
