
WYNANTSKILL – Joseph Edward O’Malley, 74, of Wynantskill, passed into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Joe was born in Albany, and raised in Cambridge. He lived in Wynantskill for the past five years, and previously lived in Duanesburg for thirty years. He was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College, and was employed by Mary McClellan Hospital, then by the IBEW Local 236, and he retired from work in electrical sales in 1989.
Joe is survived by his wife Patricia Tompkins O’Malley; his children Dawn Marie Johnson and partner, Richard Engelmann, Joseph O’Malley and fiancé Kellaine Connolly, Donald and Sandy O’Malley, Susan and Paul Deeley, and Cynthia and Joseph Kaiser; his grandchildren Erika and Kyle Ragan, Amanda O’Malley, Kelly O’Malley and fiancé Peter Wade, Erin Johnson, Megan O’Malley, Ashley O’Malley, Donald O’Malley, Jack Kaiser, PJ Deeley, Matthew Deeley, Jonas Butz and Charlotte Butz; his great grandchild Camden Ragan; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Martin and Mary Nash O’Malley, and his sister Maryann Frascatore.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Saturday at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Saturday morning beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 S Pearl St, Albany, NY 12202.
