COLONIE – John Siy, 88, died peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2011. Born in Albany on September 16, 1922, he was the son of Lucas and Sofia Siy. His memories included surviving two typhoons and the surrender of a Japanese submarine to his ship in the final days of the war.

As a long-time resident of Colonie, John especially enjoyed living at the Beltrone Living Center in Colonie. The family wishes to thank the residents and staff for their kindness.
