GUILDERLAND – Joan M. Bailey, 65, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020.  Joan was born in Albany, and lived in the area all her life.  She was employed for a time by New York State.

Joan is survived by her children Shannon Correa of Albany, Kenyon C. Manley, II (Julie) of Albany, and Charles Mendel of Shoreline, WA; her mother Evelyn Bliven of Albany; her grandchildren Jose and Niko Correa, and Kyla and Jack Manley; her brothers John Bailey of Schenectady, George Bliven (Maria) of Clifton Park, Michael Bliven of Albany, Robert Bliven (Kim) of Florida, Louis Bliven (Tracy) of Florida, and Thomas Bliven of Manhattan.  She was predeceased by her father John A. Bailey, Jr.

Calling hours will he held at Hans Funeral Home from 2:00pm-4:00pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.  Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, at a later date.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.

    Sis I admired your courage to make change for yourself. I have had the the pleasure of knowing you all my life. I will never forget the times we worked together you and Carmella and I at the little sisters of the poor along with Kate. Growing up together and you becoming my Neice. We shared some really good times together. Always I will remember all the fun and laughter we shared. I promise you I will never forget you and will think of you always. Say hello to George, Pat, Frank, Kate and all we new for me. Brother Ed and Bill please look out for her she was a Beautiful and amazing person. To we all meet again and by the way I’m not as Crazy as I once was. Love all and was honored to have loved all and always will. Hay Pat I made some split pea soup over the weekend and believe me when I tell ya it was almost as good as yours. Love always Karl.

    I am so sorry for your loss.Your Mom was a beautiful person inside and out.I am sorry I cannot make it to see and talk with you tomorrow as I am my Mom’s caregiver now and have appointments lined up tomorrow.
