ALBANY – Gladys Carr Connelly, 94, of Albany passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Connelly was born in Atlanta, and moved to Albany in the 1940s. She returned to Georgia for a time in the 1950s, and then moved back to Albany in 1960. She worked with her husband in their business, Albany Produce Corp. She also was a communicant of the Parish of Mater Christi and the former St. Catherine of Siena churches, where she was a member of the knitting group. Mrs. Connelly also worked as a volunteer in the St. Peter’s Hospital medical records department for more than 20 years. She also enjoyed completing word and math puzzles.

Mrs. Connelly was predeceased by her husband, Joseph W. Connelly. She is survived by her sons, William J. Connelly (Elaine) of Albany, and James H. Connelly (Nancy) of South Weymouth, Mass.; her grandchildren, Krista Sinton (Daniel), Eric Connelly (Kerianne), and Matthew Connelly; her great-grandchildren, Calvin and Sara Sinton; and by several nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her brother, Harry Carr, and her sister, Frances Carr Kirby.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at 9:30 a.m., in the Parish of Mater Christi, Hurst Avenue and Hopewell Street, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited. There will be no calling hours. A private entombment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation, 319 S. Manning Blvd., 114, Albany, NY 12208, or to a charity of your choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hans Funeral Home, Albany.
