
DELMAR – George Frommer, 97, died peacefully on December 13, 2018. Born in Albany on November 26, 1921, he was the son of George and Ida Frommer. George was a devoted husband and father and last worked for the Agway Corporation in Albany.
As a member of the Greatest Generation, George served bravely in the Army Engineer Corp in Europe during WWII. In Belgium shortly before the end of the war, George was seriously wounded by a land mine. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
George was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Frommer, who died in 2010. He was also predeceased by his sister Grace Frommer (Harold) Van Buren, his mother-in-law Agnes Mueller, sister-in-law Rose Mueller, brother-in-law William Mueller, sister-in-law Ruth Mueller, friends Jackie, Rita, and May Brower, Frank and Anna Ott, and Warren (Peggy) Dickert.
George is survived by his loving daughter, Susan Siy (Dennis) of Naperville, IL; his brother-in-law, Harold (Sue) Van Buren of Scottsdale, AZ; and several nieces and nephews, June (Bud) Seith of Dublin, PA, Thomas (Mary) Mueller of Centre Hall, PA, Michael (Anne) Van Buren of Albany, Stephen (Carol) Van Buren of Albany, and Karen (Tim) Hunter of Webster, NY.

Family and friends may call at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Avenue, Albany on Wednesday, December 19th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Remember fondly Ida and George playing their version of pinochle at the camp on Kinderhook Lake with Grandpa Harry, Gram Anna, Aunt Grace, Uncle Harold, Mom Edna Mae and Dad Wayne.
