CLIFTON PARK – George A. Foertsch, 76, of Clifton Park, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.  George was born in Kingston and raised in New Paltz.  He moved to the Albany area as a young adult.  He was employed for many years as a fire sprinkler fitter for J. V. Warren company.  George loved visiting casinos, and his yearly trip to the Elvis Festival at Lake George.  He also bowled for many years at Latham Bowl, and was a member of the Colonie Elks.

George is survived by his beloved companion of 40 years, Beverly “Penny” Santagato; his children Robert Foertsch (Mary) of Esperance, and Tammy Teal (Andrew) of Guilderland; his grandson Cody Teal; Penny’s son Joseph Santagato of Clifton Park; Penny’s grandchildren Jordan Kane (Drew) and Alisha Santagato.  He was predeceased by Penny’s daughter Monique Santagato.

Calling hours will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Tuesday, March 15th from 4-7 p.m., with a service to follow at 7 p.m.  Relatives and friends are invited.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Ln, Latham, NY 12110.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
