Emma M. Saboda

COLONIE – Emma M. Saboda, 95, of Colonie, passed away on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at Albany Memorial Hospital.  Emma was born in Nazareth, PA, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Ritza Saboda.  She lived in Brooklyn for 75 years before moving to the Albany area in 2004.  She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years by the New Caledonia Hospital in Brooklyn until her retirement, and she also was employed as a waitress at many of New York City’s finest restaurants.

Emma is survived by many nieces and nephews, including locally by Karen Quaal (David) and Karl Saboda (Joan) of North Greenbush.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Friday February 20^th at 3pm.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Friday from 1-3 p.m.  Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, the Bronx, on Monday, February 23^rd.   The family suggests memorial contributions to the Regional Food Bank, 965 Albany Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
