
ALBANY – Ellen M. (Cunningham) Jackson, 76, of Albany, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016. Ellen was born in Albany, raised in Slingerlands, but lived most of her life in Albany. She was employed for a time by the New York State Dept. of Health, and left that position to raise her family. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed following politics. She also enjoyed traveling to visit her sons’ families in Ellicott City, MD and Sandwich, MA and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored.
Ellen was predeceased by her husband Joseph T. Jackson, Jr. She is survived by her sons Joseph T. Jackson and his wife Jennifer Conron Jackson of Ellicott City, MD, and Michael J. Jackson and his wife Kristine E. (Subacs) Jackson of Sandwich, MA; her sister Jean McGrane of North Palm Beach, FL; her grandchildren Matthew, Abigail, Katrina, and Ariana Jackson; and her two nephews John and Peter McGrane.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Saturday at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Ln, Latham, NY 12110.
