Elizabeth A. Mccumber

ALBANY – Elizabeth “Sis” McCumber, 91, of Albany, was called to Heaven on Friday, April 30, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA after a brief illness.  Mrs. McCumber, daughter of Peter Munroe and Marie Enos Munroe, was born on January 17, 1919 in McKownville, NY and lived most of her life in Albany, NY and Columbus, GA.  She was the beloved mother of five, grandmother of eighteen, great grandmother of twenty eight, and great great grandmother of three, was employed by Denby’s in Stuyvesant Plaza as a sales clerk, and was a member of St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church for many years.

Mrs. McCumber was predeceased by her husband William E. McCumber, her sons Edward, Robert, Ronald and daughter Nancy McCumber Hofmann.  She is survived by her son Donald J. McCumber, Sr. (Lorraine) of Coxsackie, NY; her beloved sister in law Violet McCumber McCullough of Columbus, GA; her grandchildren Gregory, Deborah, Michelle, Mark, Scott, Shawn, Ronald, Patricia, Peter, Crystal, Donald Jr., Daniel, Frances, Lynn, William and by her great and great great grandchildren.  She will also be greatly missed by her niece Sandy McCullough Montjoy of Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Thursday morning at 8:45, and from there to All Saints Catholic Church (formerly St. Margaret Mary’s Church), at 9:30.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.  Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.  The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the CCU at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
