
ALBANY – Donald R. Rahm, 87, of Albany, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Albany Medical Center. Don was born and raised in Albany. He lived in Florida for several years, but lived in Albany most of his life. He attended Albany City schools, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1952. He then became an electrician, working first in Florida, and then in Albany. He was a member of the IBEW for over 60 years. Don loved the outdoors, and loved fishing and taking long walks.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary T. McHugh Rahm; his children and their spouses Donald W. and Linda Rahm of Albany, Dorothy and Paul March of Hudson, Barbara Kearsing of Schenectady, Maureen and Ed Micka of Latham, Kathleen Rahm of Myrtle Beach, SC, William Rahm of Latham, and Ed and Jamie Rahm of Valatie; his nephew Ralph Rahm; his niece Florence Steiger; and by nineteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. Don was predeceased by his daughter Carol M. Rahm, his son-in-law Paul Kearsing, and his brother Ralph “Bill” Rahm.
The family would like to offer their most heartfelt thanks to the first responders, and the emergency and medical ICU units staff at AMC.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, 965 Albany-Shaker Rd, Latham, NY 12110.
