Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Tuesday morning at 9:00, and from there to Christ the King Church, Sumter Ave., Guilderland at 10:00.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-8 p.m. The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at 4:30 pm Monday for a service of prayer and remembrance.  All are welcome.   Interment will be in Our Lady of Angeles Cemetery, Colonie.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Love for the Lawtons, c/o First Niagara Bank, 1973 Western Ave, Albany, NY 12203.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, view or print a prayer card, or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com .

When we lose someone we love it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence… a quiet sadness… A longing for one more day… one more word… one more touch… We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. We will see you again some day, in a heavenly place where there is no parting. A place where there are no words that mean good-bye.

Sue and family, I am so sorry for your great loss. Dave fought hard and long. It seems that after such a hard, courageous battle, he should have won the fight. I’m sure that because he had you, he was a true winner in life and love. I hope that you will always feel his strength and love in your hearts.
